BMW presents a new generation of the model that lit the fuse to create an innovative and unique category of cars: the Sports Activity Coupe (SAC). The new BMW X6 combines the agile and versatile handling of a Sports Activity Vehicle with the attractive image of a coupe. The third generation of the BMW X6 employs a clean and exclusive design language, which underlines its confident and commanding presence. Advanced powertrain and chassis technologies combine with numerous innovations to offer a unique, sporty and luxurious driving experience at the same time. Like its predecessor, the BMW X6 will be manufactured at the BMW Group's Spartanburg plant in the United States. Market launch will begin in November 2019.
Dynamic proportions that exude a sporty character.
The new BMW X6 grows 26 millimeters in length (4,935 mm.) And 15 in width (2,004 mm.) Compared to its predecessor. It is also 6mm. lower (1,696mm) and combines elongated and more dynamic proportions with exceptional muscle. The wheelbase has been increased by 42mm and is now 2,975mm.
The large, single-framed kidney grille is the most striking feature of the front end and its outer edges approach the headlights at a clearly defined angle. The BMW X6 will be available, for the first time and as an option, with an illuminated kidney grille that adds a touch of exclusivity to the exterior. The lighting is activated when the car is opened or closed, and the driver can also turn it on or off manually. The grill may be illuminated while driving.
With the optional BMW Laserlight lighting with adaptive LEDs, the selective beam BMW Laserlight headlamp optimizes its non-dazzling function and extends its range to around 500 meters. The BMW Laserlight system is identified by the blue X-shaped elements inside the characteristic BMW twin headlights. The profile of the new BMW X6 is defined by familiar BMW proportions, a sharply drawn character line and the dynamic shape of the roof. 19-inch alloy wheels are standard, with other options available between 20 and 22 inches. The BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d come standard with 21-inch alloy wheels.
The new BMW X6 will be available from its launch with the xLine and M Sport variants as an alternative to the standard specification. Both equipment lines have their own distinctive design elements.
Interior: an exclusive environment with a sporty touch.
The interior of the new BMW X6 is directly geared towards offering an exclusive and dynamic driving experience. The clear structure gives the interior a modern and sporty look. The dashboard design, and the new layout and design of the controls, represents a new and progressive interpretation of the famous BMW driver-oriented style. The new BMW X6 comes standard with Vernasca leather upholstery.
The interior offers a high degree of versatility, thanks to the 40:20:40 folding scheme for the rear seatbacks, which when fully folded down can expand the boot capacity from 580 to 1,530 liters. Highlights of optional equipment include multi-function driver and passenger massage seats, four-zone climate control, thermoelectric coasters, glass inserts for select controls, Sky Lounge panoramic sunroof, Ambient Air interior fragrance package and equipment. Bowers & Wilkins Diamond + 3D Surround sound system.
Four powerful engines and two M engines since launch.
The range of engines available from launch includes two gasoline mechanics and two other latest generation diesel engines. The top of the range is the BMW X6 M50i
(combined consumption of 10.7–10.4 l / 100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 243–237 g / km), featuring a newly developed V8 engine delivering 390 kW / 530 hp. Next to it is the BMW X6 M50d (combined consumption of 7.2–6.9 l / 100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 190–181 g / km), with a diesel inline six with four turbochargers. The BMW X6 xDrive40i (combined consumption of 8.6–8.0 l / 100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 197–181 g / km), is fitted with a six-cylinder in-line petrol with an output of 250 kW / 340 hp . And the BMW X6 xDrive30d (combined consumption of 6.6–6.1 l / 100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 172–159 g / km) is powered by a six-cylinder in-line diesel with 195 kW / 265 hp. All versions of the new BMW X6 comply with emission regulations and EU6d-TEMP. The M Sport exhaust system, which is standard on the M models, is available as an option for all other models in the range within the M Sport package, giving this model an unmistakable and exciting sound.
All versions of the new BMW X6 feature the eight-speed Steptronic transmission as standard, while intelligent all-wheel drive maximizes the vehicle's traction, agility and directional stability. The latest generation of the BMW xDrive system distributes the torque between the front and rear wheels more quickly and precisely, in a variable way and as the situation requires. To achieve greater efficiency, the system delivers full power to the rear wheels in situations where all-wheel drive is not necessary. The xDrive system in the new BMW X6 also maintains its orientation towards the rear axle in dynamic driving. The sporting prowess of this model is further enhanced by the electronically controlled rear M differential, available in the M Sport variants or in conjunction with the optional xOffroad package.
A perfectly tuned chassis accentuates the sporty response, ride comfort and off-road capabilities.
A double wishbone front axle and a five-link multi-link rear axle provide the new BMW X6 with the ideal suspension tools for great dynamism and comfort on the road, and unwavering traction off the road. Dynamic Damper Control is standard. Adaptive M Professional suspension with active roll stabilization and Integral Active Steering give this model exceptionally agile and dynamic driving qualities. The new BMW X6 is also available with two-axle air suspension, including automatic self-leveling. The height of the car can be regulated up to a maximum of 80 mm. from a remote inside. An off-road package is available - except for the BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d - which allows the driver to select between four modes to improve handling on snow, dirt, gravel and rocks. With a simple touch of a button, these modes also activate the ideal vehicle height settings, xDrive traction system, throttle response, transmission control, and DSC corrective interventions.
Innovative driver assistance systems with new functions.
A wide selection of standard and optional driver assistance systems make the new BMW X6 an exceptionally innovative Sports Activity Coupe. Incorporating a host of new features, these systems do an extremely effective job of improving comfort and safety. Standard equipment on the new BMW X6 includes Active Cruise Control with braking function and Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, which also alerts the driver when it detects a cyclist. Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function is available as an option. The Driving Assistant Professional is also among the options of the new BMW X6. This comprehensive package of safety and comfort enhancement systems includes both the Steering and Lane Assist Assist with traffic jam assistance, and the Lane Keeping Assist with active side collision protection. The Evasion Assist is another element of the Driving Assistant Professional, such as the Rear Collision Alert, Priority Road or Wrong-Way Alert, Extended Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Warning and Emergency Stop Assist. The innovative Reverse Assist, which assists the driver when exiting parking spaces and maneuvering in confined spaces, represents another step on the road to autonomous driving.

The new BMW Live Cockpit Professional in the new BMW X6 combines new displays and operating concept with unbeatable connectivity. It includes a high resolution instrumentation and a Control Display, both 12.3 inches. Standard equipment for the new BMW X6 includes the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, an intelligent digital assistant that responds to the greeting “Hello, BMW. A unique feature compared to other digital assistants is that the driver can give it a name. The arrival of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant ensures that there is always a true BMW professional on board. It is able to explain all kinds of functions, to provide information in real time and to assist the driver. Its functions and capabilities will be constantly expanded with regular updates, which can be easily carried out with a smartphone and in the car using the Remote Software Upgrade function.
