The first fully electric BMW iX3 is now ready to conquer the roads. The “Power of Choice” strategy allows the model to adapt to all needs and regulations around the world. It is the first model available with a gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid or fully electric.
The market launch of the iX3 will take place at the end of 2020, when sales start in China. The first Units will arrive in Spain in the first quarter of 2021. It will also be the first model of the brand to be built for export at the plant in Shenyang, China.
The new BMW iX3 has a combined electrical consumption of 17.8 - 17.5 kWh / 100 km, a combined emissions of 0 g / km CO2 and a combined WLTP consumption of 0.0 l / 100 km. The new powertrain unit develops a maximum power of 210kW / 286 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm which, unlike many electric motors, is maintained at high revs. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 180 km / h. The battery is high voltage and can be charged zero to 80% of full capacity in 34 minutes thus obtaining the necessary energy to add 100 kilometers to autonomy from the car (low cycle WLTP) in 10 minutes.
The new BMW iX3 owes its innovative character to the unique combination of the efficiency of its electric motor, the optimized energy density of its high-voltage battery and its high charging capacity. The different energy regeneration modes allow you to choose between the typical pedal response of the electric “one-pedal feeling” with the position “B” on the gear selector, thus achieving a great regeneration of energy. Also the adaptive one, which includes the inertia advance function, with the selector in position “D”.
